I acquired this from a client who wanted to get rid of this gorgeous Victorian chaise, so we struck a deal as I wanted this for my wifes 40th Birthday present. The one claim to fame that this chaise has it that; according to the client, who I have no reason to doubt, is that apparently at one of their parties the singer songwriter – Prince, threw up all over the piece of furniture.

The original fabric was faded, a bit dated and after hearing that story about Prince, I was definitely going to replace it. Chose a heavy multi coloured stripped patten, which once the original fabric had carefully been removed, these pieces became patterns for the new fabric.

The original foam was in good condition along with the legs and frame, so decided to keep them as they were. Then came the interesting part of recovering, with the stripes and various colours making the whole job both more difficult but so rewarding. The edging was then finished with antique copper upholstery metal strips.

But above all, the look and gratitude of my beautiful wife made this challenging re upholstery project all worth while.
