Mud Kitchen
A bespoke Mud Kitchen designed with love
A client wanted a mud kitchen for her sons 2nd birthday, she showed me several designs of what she liked and then I set too and worked out how I could build it cheaper than some of the products she liked. Pine planks were chosen and then cut and laminated together to form the main structure.
Local hardware store had the plastic knobs for oven controls, a plastic bowl was painted on the underside (so that we didn’t have to worry about any paint being ingested), made an over door with perspex window and then cut out 2 sizes of ply for the 4 hobs of the oven. These and the front were then stained with a dark oak to give some contrast, whilst on one side was painted with a black chalkboard paint so that it has more than one function.
Overall it looks amazing and the little boy was super excited and loves playing at his very own mud kitchen.
