Vanity Table

Scrap birch plywood dressing table

Please excuse this one, as I made this for my Wife. It must have been 3 months before Christmas, I had just finished a large project using 15mm and 18mm Birch ply. I had enough off cuts for the frame and some of the drawer, and loads of strips of wood about 70mm in width. These off cuts determined, to a majority of the extent, the design and sizing of the vanity table.

So decided to laminate the strips together, cut and then shaped to a taper. The legs are inclined at a shallow angle, which made for great aesthetics but the fixing the legs and making the draw interesting. The table top is a few pine boards laminated together, flattened and sanded with a white gloss followed by a generous coating of lacquer. The handles are of my Wife’s choosing, and they work brilliantly.
